Travelling back to the roots of Mathbox:
Among the earliest die-cast toys issued under the Moko and Lesney names were a 1955 model of a Dennis Fire Escape vehicle and a 1956 replica of a Concrete Truck. These two vintage models can now be found inside replicas of the original matchboxes that were used as packaging, ultimately leading Lesney to change its name to Matchbox. The models are based on original tooling from the Matchbox Archives. Bearing lettering that dates back to the early days, the matchboxes are transported on an open trailer pulled by a Peterbilt 359 cab, decorated with the Matchbox Collectibles logo and slogan: Crafted by the Greatest Name in Die-Cast. The cab captures an impressive array of authentic, chrome-finished details, including the front grille, exhaust pipes, whip antennae and mirror and window trim. This model is painted in the colours of the early days of Matchbox: blue, yellow and purple.
