The Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost was built from 1906 to 1925. It was a very advanced and expensive car for that time, which was better than the competition in terms of durability and usability. A total of 8416 were built in those years. Rolls-Royce built the chassis and the body was built by Barker. The car was equipped with a 7 liter engine that delivered 48 HP.

The (Y10-3) 1906 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost joined the range in 1969.

Variations/Rarities: The 1906 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost was first issued with a metallic lime green body and a metallic bronze chassis with dark red plastic seats and grille insert. It was fitted with brass 12 spoke wheels.
The model was recoloured to a white body with a metallic purple chassis and it was fitted with chrome 12 spoke wheels. The seats were dark red or black plastic and *on early white & purple issues the seats were molded individually but in the later issues the seats were all one piece.
The chassis was then recoloured to ruby red and this version can be found with chrome 12 or 24 spoke or dark red 12 spoke wheels.
The Rolls was recoloured for the last time to silver body and chassis with a black plastic grille insert. It had black, dark red, chesnut brown or yellow seats and could have 12 spoke red plastic or chrome 12 or 24 spoke wheels.

One rare crossover issue found the silver body paired up with the glossy purple chassis (Issue 10) and another rare run had white/cream seats (Issue 21).

The rare ones - silver body & glossy purple chassis or silver body & chassis with white seats.

The maroon J box for the Y10 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost is a very rare box and is one of the two rarest J boxes, the other one being for the Y18 Cord.
Quote from the 2000 YY book page 68. "In 1988 when production was moved to Macau, a number of models as per issue 14 were found in the Rochford factory. Rather than destroy those models, they were packaged in the maroon J type boxes and sold exclusively in Australia".

This model was also one of the plated giftware models and can also be found in the "Heritage Gifts" sets. It is very common to find in silver, gold or brassy gold and was one of the most prolific ever made.
